Fabaceae
Yellow Cassia
Senna marilandica
Huge masses of bright yellow 1" blooms literally cover this this tough deciduous shrub in late summer atop the deep dark green foliage. A naturalized species in parts of the southern U.S. and a host to butterfly caterpillars. My first experience with this plant was to see full grown, rounded, 6' x 6' plants in full bloom. Unforgettable.
