Large clusters of deep burgundy berries whorl around the arching stems of this Mexican Beautyberry and last through much of winter or until the birds find them sweet enough to enjoy. In all other regards Callicarpa acuminata very much resembles our native American Beautyberry, Callicarpa americana, though it may be slightly shorter in habit. A vigorous tropical vine which produces huge clusters of soft pink wax-like blooms in summer. Interestingly enough this is considered to be the first Hoya species to be described. An excellent choice for hanging baskets where it can hang and climb as it is wont to do. Item# 9309.

The Fodingzhu Sweet Olive produces larger and showier clusters of sweetly fragrant white flowers over an exceptionally long period beginning in late summer and early fall and continuing well into spring. This is a pest and disease free, low-maintenance, long-lived large evergreen shrub to small tree with a naturally upright habit to rounded habit with a moderately fast rate of growth. Use the Sweet Olive as a specimen plant, as a backdrop for winter flowering Camellias, and as a large screen. A thornless Crown of Thorns that produces a Non-Stop show of bright glowing red, 1-1/2" wide crown of thorn blooms nearly throughout the year atop the thornless stems and glossy green foliage. One of our favorites! Can be trained into a beautiful and exotic small tree standard. We have seen hummingbirds, butterflies, and even lizards nectaring from the profusion of flowers. Item# 9152.

The fragrant very large 5" wide cupped flowers, when pollinated, produce the largest fruit of any of the Passion Fruits and mature to be 5-6" wide and 8-12" long (wow!). The Giant Granadilla, Passiflora quadrangularis, is a vigorous tropical vine with winged square stems and large oval leaves. It prefers a deep, well-drained, moist to average moist, fertile soil and a full to partly sunny position. High humidity and temperatures of 60^oF or more are required for fruit set and pollination. The Giant Granadilla is considered to be self-sterile and so it requires another species or a different clone (ours are clonally propagated), like Passiflora phoenicia 'Ruby Glow', for cross pollination. A repeat flowering Banana Magnolia with a more intense sweet banana fragrance! Hagiwara Everblooming Banana Magnolia produces sweetly fragrant cupped soft yellow flowers for much of summer on this large evergreen shrub to small tree. Deep glowing red full Hibiscus flowers are held against the deep burgundy foliage of this exceptionally beautiful hardy and compact Hibiscus and Mimi is sure to be a conversation piece in any garden. Dainty greenish yellow passionflowers are produced throughout summer and are followed by small black edible/inedible fruit. The Native Yellow Passionflower is a small to medium sized perennial vine with apple green tri-lobed foliage that is often splashed with light silvery variegation. Considered to be one of the most cold hardy Passionvines it is also fairly well mannered making it suitable for container culture. Bright orange-red, 1-1/2" long, green tipped tubular blooms with a pair of small upright petals are produced from summer to fall. This is a mounding shrub-like perennial to 5' from Southern Mexico and El Salvador. In Hawaii a unique Christmas lei is sometimes made from the flowers. Much loved by Hummingbirds. Item # 1080.

The fleshy deep green to reddish green 1/2" diameter, 4-5 angled, branched stems are adorned with small spikey thorns that produces 3-5" wide pale yellow to near white starry flowers that are overlaid with intricate burgundy and dark burgundy variegation reminiscent of a Persian carpet. It can flower any time of year and multiple times per year once fully mature and under good conditions. Like Stapeliads, this plant is pollinated by flies and has a rotten carrion like odor to attract them but you may have to put your nose in the flower to notice it as it does not seem to permeate the air. The Persian Carpet Flower, Edithcolea grandis newly reclassified as Ceropegia sordida, is an evergreen herbaceous succulent from tropical Africa that can build to 4-8"H x 12"W and is typically found growing in partially shaded to occassionally full sun conditions in dry desert-like regions. Its main requirements are soils with excellent drainage and warm temperatures, preferably not below about 60^oF. The Persian Carpet Flower should make an easy summer porch or patio plant or even as a hanging basket where it receives at least some direct sunlight during the day to promote flowering. It can tolerate slightly more moisture when in active growth but should still be allowed to become moderately dry between waterings. Reduce watering in winter, especially if grown under cool conditions. These are well-established young plants that are already branching. Item# 12457

Small clusters of lightly fragrant purple and lavender flowers are born from summer to frost on this easy and adaptable perennial. A wonderfully colorful fall suprise, the Red Spider Lily produces neatly rounded clusters of deep red spidery flowers atop sturdy 12-18" high stems in late summer and early fall before the blue-green narrow straplike foliage emerges for winter. The nectar rich flowers attract larger butterflies and the large yellow Sulphur butterflies seem to be especially attracted to them. This heirloom pass-a-long multiplies readily to create a dense clump of offsets that can be divided in summer. Each pot contains 3 medium to large flowering size bulbs that can be planted anytime of year from containers.
