The foliage of this Epiphyllum wants to twist and curl into great locks of of flat, rich green foliage. Small for an Epiphyllum, the 3" white flowers open at night and are often followed by small red, delicious, edible fruit. With this particular cultivar of Epiphyllum guatamalense the flowers may or may not open fully or at all but as it is self-pollinating it may produce fruit even so. Dark Knight Bluebeard, Spiraea, Caryopteris

Caryopteris x clandonensis 'Dark Knight'

Dense whorls of nectar rich, purple to dark blue-purple, tubular flowers seemingly cover up the upper most portions of the plant for weeks beginning in mid to late summer and continuing into fall. Dark Knight Bluebeard, a.k.a. Black Knight, is a vigorous and easy sunloving free-flowering clump forming shrub-like perennial that quickly develops into a dense mound of fragrant and deer resistant gray-green foliage. In zones 5-6 it tends to act more like a clump forming die-back perennial and becomes more shrub-like where winters are milder although it benefits from hard late winter or early spring pruning since it flowers on new growth. Somewhat drought resistant once well-established and prefers a sunny site in a well-drained soil for optimum vigor and flowering. Item# 12117

Salvia 'Dayglow' PPAF?

Spikes of comparatively large, two-lipped tubular flowers are a brilliant dayglow pink with a contrasting small white throat and are produced from late spring or summer into fall attracting hummingbirds, larger bees, and occassional butterflies. Dayglow Salvia is new to the US in 2021, an Autumn Sage and Littleleaf Sage hybrid, with a long flowering habit, sturdy disposition and a naturally upright to rounded habit. This shrub-like perennial may remain evergreen in mild winter climates, like zones 9B-10, but acts like a die-back perennial where temperatures fall much below about 30oF. Perfectly suited for use as a low-maintenance container specimen or add it to a sunny garden or landscape for traffic stopping, summer-long color. Disney Scarlet Ginger (Orange to Red-Orange)

Hedychium coccineum 'Disney', H. coccineum 'Honduras Form', H. coccineum 'Orange Brush'

Tall spikes of soft to medium orange flowers sit atop sturdy upright stems and are produced over a long period in summer on well-established plantings. This ginger's sweetly fragrant flowers attract larger butterflies like Swallowtails and Giant Sulphurs. The Disney form of the Scarlet Ginger is one of the more compact and erect growing forms of this species. Disney is also known as the Honduras Form and as the Orange Brush Ginger. As with most Hedychiums provide a partly shaded area to full sun, in an average moist, fertile, well-drained soil. The Disney Scarlet Ginger is vigorous, easy and hardy. Item# 11522

Don's Dwarf Southern Wax Myrtle, Southern Bayberry, Candleberry

Morella cerifera 'Don's Dwarf', Myrica cerifera

Fine textured, narrow, bronze-tinged yellow-green new growth matures to deep olive green on this compact native evergreen shrub. Don's Dwarf Wax Myrtle, a selection of Myrica cerifera, a.k.a Morella cerifera, makes a tough and easy, low-maintenance low to medium-sized evergreen hedge that could easily be used to replace Boxwood, Indian Hawthorn, and even Dwarf Yaupon Holly in the garden and landscape. Its toughness lends it to use in parking lot islands. Don's Dwarf Wax Myrtle is resistant to leaf spot that plagues some Wax Myrtles, is drought resistant once fully established, and is not likely to be bothered by deer thanks to its Bayberry-like fragrance. Provide a full sun to part shade site in a fertile, average to well-drained soil for optimum growth and vigor. The only drawback is that Wax Myrtle is subsceptible to fire and so should be utilized away from houses, businesses, and other structures, although, the plants themselves generally recover from the root stock. Item# 12746

Fragrant peachy orange butterfly-shaped lightly fragrant flowers are produced in large spikes in summer atop tall sturdy stems adorned with heavily variegated white and green tropical looking foliage.
