3-5" wide primrose yellow flowers with a burgundy eye that quickly fade to orange and near red are produced in summer on this vigorous large shrub to small tree-like Hibiscus with glossy rounded foliage. The Hamabo Hibiscus is an unusual species from China that is salt tolerant and provides beautiful fall colors ranging from yellows to near reds before dropping its deciduous foliage for the winter. In zone 8, plant young plants out early in the growing season so that they will be reliably hardy for their first winter. Whorls of egg-yolk yellow 1 1/2" long tubular flowers surround the fuzzy gray green stems in summer. Jerusalem Sage is an heirloom tough and easy to grow, bushy clump-forming perennial whose fuzzy gray-green foliage looks very similar to the cooking Sage, Salvia officinalis, although it lacks the sage-like fragrance. Flowering can be extended by deadheading the spent flowering stems. Provide Jerusalem Sage with an average moist to semi-dry (once well-established) well-drained soil in a full to mostly sunny site for optimum vigor and flowering. It is considered to be a fairly reliably root hardy die-back perennial in zones 5-7 and generally remains evergreen in zones 8-10. It makes a forgiving container plant as well as a low maintenance addition to the garden and landscape. An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. Item# 12179

Jury's Yellow Camellia

Camellia x williamsii 'Jury's Yellow', C. japonica 'Jury's Yellow'

The medium sized anemone form flowers are composed of a row of white outer petals centered by pale yellowish petaloids interspersed with golden stamens helping to create the yellow effect that has long been sought after in Camellias and this was one of the earliest hybrids to display it. Jury's Yellow Camellia is a long flowering hybrid that begins early in the season and continues into late season.  This is a moderately vigorous 'x williamsii' hybrid with an upright to rounded habit and dense branching growth habit. Use this large evergreen shrub as a specimen in the garden and landscape or as a container plant. Camellias prefer a moist to average moist well-drained loamy to sandy acidic soil with a deep organic mulch. Item# 11665

From mid to late summer to fall this vigorous sturdy sunflower covers up in soft lemony yellow 2-3" wide flowers over a period of about 6 weeks. Lemon Queen Sunflower is not for the faint of heart and can reach 6-8' high and slowly develops into a 3-4' wide clump of sturdy upright stems. A perfect specimen to add color to the late summer and fall garden where the nectar rich flowers attract bees and other pollinators. Provide a full sun location in an average moist soil but do not overfertilize as the stems may flop from excessive nitrogen. The flowers also make good cut flowers.
