In midspring, this old heirloom favorite perennial produces long chains of dangling rosy-pink heart-shaped flowers from which contrasting white petals emerge or 'bleed'. The Old Fashioned Bleeding Heart, Dicentra spectabilis, is a shade loving clump forming perennial that develops into a soft mound of finely cut and finely textured bluish green foliage that adorns arching stems. They will perform best in a shaded site with well-drained semi-moist loamy soils with moderate amounts of organic matter. Provide a your Old Fashioned Bleeding Hearts with a site that is protected from drying winds as well as late frosts (even the branches of leafless deciduous trees can provide some frost protection for this shade loving perennial). Pam Puryear's Pink Honeysuckle produces large clusters of 2" deep pink tubular flowers with white throats and are lightly fragrant. The fragrance is most noticeable in the late afternoon and evening. This is an excellent addition to the garden with its mannerly habit, disease resistance, and the profusion of spring and early summer flowers. We apologize for any confusion but this is actually an old, likely hybrid, honeysuckle that originated from Pam Puryear's grandmother's garden in Navasota, Texas. Malvaviscus x 'Pam Puryear's Pink'

1", sleepy, rose to coral-pink flowers are borne from late spring to fall on this vigorous perennial. Tough, easy, and great for Hummingbirds. A relatively new introduction from that great Texas plantsman Greg Grant and was named after his friend and the 'Rose Rustler' founder Pam Puryear. Peaches and Cream Honeysuckle

Large clusters of deep purplish red tubular fragrant flowers open to display white and creamy yellow throats. Peaches and Cream Honeysuckle begins flowering in late spring and will continue into fall. It was selected not only for its ability to flower continuously throughout the growing season, exceptionally large flowers and flower clusters but also for its pest and disease resistance. Like most Honeysuckles, Peaches and Cream flowers on new growth so provide it with a full to mostly sunny position in a well-drained fertile soil.
