Huge bright cherry pink, 10" wide, widely flaring flowers are born from summer to fall on this beautiful perennial Hibiscus. Pink Flare is a showstopper with its continuous display of massive flowers, excellent vigor, and and pest resistant foliage. This root hardy die-back perennial has a compact 4-6' x 4-6' habit and is tolerant of soil moisture levels ranging from average to wet. The large medium-pink flowers vary between peony form with petaloids mixed among the boss of gold tipped stamens atop white filaments to semi-double showing off its gold tipped stamens atop the boss of white filaments and are produced in midseason or Dec-February. Adorning purplish-red spikes and emerging from similarly colored calyxes, the mulberry pink tubular flowers are accented by contrasting white lower lips and a fuzzy bright fuchsia hood. Flowering occurs from late spring or early summer to fall. Pink Mulberry Salvia, an uncommon hybrid between S. greggii 'Alba' x S. involucrata, is a shrub-like, herbaceous tender perennial sage that lands somewhere between its parents in looks and growth habit reaching about 3-4' high and 2-3' wide by the end of the summer. Hundreds of Japanese-lantern like buds open to display the unusual, downward facing, deep rosy pink flowers with strappy petals, that lighten toward their tips and are red speckled on the inside, are produced in late spring and early to midsummer with some repeat into fall. The flowers are held in large clusters of up to 50 flowers from the upright flower stems. Pink Octopus Japanese Bellflower, an unusually heat and humidity tolerant Campanula hybrid, is a clump forming, slowly spreading, 12-16" high perennial with feathery edged deep green foliage that makes an easy groundcover in full sun to part shade conditions. Dainty coral pink, many petaled, tubular passionflowers are produced throughout much of the year on this small growing passionvine. The Pink Passionvine has smooth medium green bilobed foliage that often shows silvery variegation. Loads of 1-1/2" wide, starry, hose in hose flowers are light pink blushed white and have a slightly darker pink blotch and flecks in early to midspring and nearly hide the dark green foliage in peak flowering. Pink Pearl Azalea, originally named Azuma Kagami in Japan and imported and renamed by E.H. Wilson as part of the 'Wilson's Fifty', is a moderately vigorous, medium sized, heirloom, Kurume evergreen azalea with a mounding habit to about 4-5'H. Its moderately vigorous habit lend this large growing evergreen azalea to use as an informal medium-sized hedge, specimen plant, and as a spring flowering backdrop for mixed perennial gardens as well as in the landscape. Azaleas do best in average moist, acidic soils that are rich in organic matter but have good to excellent drainage and should be top dressed with an organic mulch such as pine straw and pine bark. We recommend using a slow-release, non-burning fertilizer that is labeled for acidic loving plants. Azalea flowers attract a variety of pollinators including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Small to medium-sized, 3-4" wide, perfect or rose form, bright pink flowers are produced late in the season, March to April, which is unusual for a Sasanqua. Pink Princess Sasanqua Camellia is vigorous growing, large evergreen shrub with an initially upright habit and medium textured, deep green, glossy foliage. It should make a good choice for a hedge, screen, or specimen plant. The Sasanqua Camellias are much more tolerant of growing conditions than standard Japonica Camellias and can tolerate less than perfect soils and full sun to light shade conditions. The extra large (for a Phlox) rich pink 1-1/4" wide flowers are centered by a contrasting dark purplish-red eye which is in turn surrounded by a narrow white halo all atop a dense groundcovering mound of rich green foliage. The butterfly attracting flower show of Pink Profusion Phlox begins in late winter to early spring and may continue for up to 8 weeks and at peak flowering the foliage may be nearly completely hidden. Deep purplish-blue 3-petaled flowers emerge in succession from long-lasting flattened purplish-pink bracts in both spring and fall atop the rosette of narrow deep green arching foliage. Large often pyramidal sprays of small rose colored flowers are produced from spring to fall on mature plants and are held against a foil of medium green heart-shaped foliage. The flowers are in constant use by honeybees and occasionally by butterflies. The Rosa Montana or Coral Vine, Antigonon leptopus, is a tendriled, tuberous tropical vine that is evergreen in frost free regions but acts like a die-back perennial in areas that experience freezing temperatures returning from the tubers in spring. As a perennial vine, it typically remains in the 8-15' range but can exceed 40' high in tropical regions. Provide a full sun to mostly sunny site in a well-drained, average moist, fertile soil for optimum growth and flowering. Easy to grow with moderate drought resistant once well-established, though this may reduce growth and flowering. In areas where hard freezes occur, plant out early in the growing season and no later than by midsummer to help insure winter survival. Item# 825
