Pink Flowers or Flower Parts

Spikes of comparatively large, two-lipped tubular flowers are a brilliant dayglow pink with a contrasting small white throat and are produced from late spring or summer into fall attracting hummingbirds, larger bees, and occassional butterflies. Dayglow Salvia is new to the US in 2021, an Autumn Sage and Littleleaf Sage hybrid, with a long flowering habit, sturdy disposition and a naturally upright to rounded habit. This shrub-like perennial may remain evergreen in mild winter climates, like zones 9B-10, but acts like a die-back perennial where temperatures fall much below about 30^oF. Perfectly suited for use as a low-maintenance container specimen or add it to a sunny garden or landscape for traffic stopping, summer-long color. Provide a full to mostly sunny site in well-drained, average moist, fertile soils for maximum flower power. Item# 12550

A Camellia Hall of Fame Award winner! One of the longest flowering Camellias in our garden beginning early in the season with flowers into late season. Debutante produces frilly double (peony form) medium pink 3-4" wide flowers showing few, if any, yellow anthers. This is an exceptionally vigorous Camellia and is considered by some to be one of the few large flowered Japonicas that can tolerate full sun. Item# 3153

Medium-sized, creamy white to very pale pink, formal double, a.k.a. rose or perfect form, flowers are edged in sweetly contrasting deep pink and are produced over an extended period in mid and late season, January to April. Dooley Hydrangea produces large mopheads of rich blue or pink, depending on soil pH. This is a vigorous growing, exceptionally cold hardy Big Leaf Hydrangea introduced by Dr. Michael Dirr.Hydrangeas are easy to grow deciduous shrubs that prefer partly shaded areas of the garden with a rich, moist but not wet, soil. This heirloom has long been a popular favorite among Southern gardeners! Clusters of 4-6" fully double, bright pink, peony-like flowers are born in late summer and into fall. A ground-covering perennial that produces large clusters of double white and pink, lightly fragrant flowers in summer that open in the evening attracting hummingbird moths as well as butterflies and larger bees. Elegantly cupped fragrant rose-pink flowers are produced non-stop throughout the growing season on this floriferous and disease resistant tea rose. Duchesse de Brabant has an upright to vase shaped habit and makes an excellent specimen or use it in mass or as a hedge to wonderful effect. The sweetly contrasting bicolor flowers are composed of two large soft shell pink lower petals and a bright rosy pink tube and hood all emerging from maroon tinged calyxes and spikes. Dyson's Joy Salvia, or simply Joy Salvia, is likely a selection or hybrid of Salvia greggii or Autumn Sage, and develops into a compact rounded plant growing to about 2' x 2' that can be enjoyed as a container plant as well as in the garden and landscape. The brightly colored flowers attract low flying hummingbirds, occasional butterflies, and other pollinators with its nectar rich flowers. Provide a well-drained soil in full to mostly sunny conditions and never keep soggy wet. Clusters of lilac-pink tubular flowers are produced in abundance beginning in midspring and continuing into fall and are held against a contrasting foil of long-lasting showy deep bronze-red bracts and exceptionally dark green glossy foliage that takes on purple and bronze tones in winter. Edward Goucher Glossy Abelia, considered to be a hybrid of Abelia x grandiflora x A. shumanii, has a naturally dense, rounded to vase-shaped habit on this medium-sized, evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub. Abelias are known for their toughness and adaptability to a variety of soil types provided they have average or better drainage. 'Ellen Bosanquet' is one of the reddest of the Crinum Lilies producing large bell-shaped deep reddish pink to nearly maroon colored outward facing trumpets on sturdy stalks to 3'H. Brilliant orange fading to pink and finally red and burgundy into the eye. The 4-5" flowers just seem to keep coming all summer long on a compact but vigorous enough tropical hibiscus. Eva Lyon Holmes is a repeat blooming Hydrangea sporting large Mopheads of pink or blue beginning in late spring and will continue to bloom on new growth into summer and fall. The very large flowers of this appropriately named Camellia consist of an anemone to semi-double white flower splashed, flecked, and striped with a dark pink to near red.
