Loads of 1-1/2" wide, purple tinged rich peachy-pink, starry funnel shaped flowers are produced in midspring with good repeat in fall all on a low mounding spreading plant. Momo No Haru Azalea, which roughly translates to 'Spring of Peach', is a dwarf Satsuki evergreen azalea slowly building to about 2-3'H x 4-5'W. Its compact habit lend it to use as a bonsai specimen but it can also be utilized as a low growing evergreen hedge or as a specimen plant in the garden and landscape. Azaleas do best in average moist, acidic soils that are rich in organic matter but have good to excellent drainage and should be top dressed with an organic mulch such as pine straw and pine bark. We recommend using a slow-release, non-burning fertilizer that is labeled for acidic loving plants. Azalea flowers attract a variety of pollinators including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Flattened clusters of dainty white flowers sit atop a backdrop of deep blue-green leather foliage on this compact rounded evergreen shrub in mid to late spring. Moonlit® Lace Viburnum is considered to be a hybrid of V. davidii x V. tinus and offers excellent heat tolerance unlike Viburnum davidii which seems to melt in the heat and humidity of the southeastern US. Medium sized rich dark red flowers of loose peony form are borne in mid-season (basically January-March). Mrs. Charles Cobb Camellia is a vigorous upright to spreading Camellia and an old and reliable favorite of ours! A 2016 Louisiana Super Plant selection! The dense neat mound of deep green glossy foliage and red tinged stems is topped by clusters of white flowers in spring which make way to red berries ripening through purple and finally black. The flowers attract a variety of pollinators and the fruit attract songbirds and smaller fructivores. Mrs. Schiller's Delight Viburnum is a selection of the southeastern native Walter's Viburnum, Viburnum obovatum, and its dense mounding habit lends it to use anywhere a small compact shrub is desired in the landscape. It is generally evergreen into zone 8A and tends to be deciduous to semi-evergreen in zones 6 and 7. Use this tough little native shrub in place of Dwarf Yaupon, Indian Hawthorne, or anywhere a small, disease resistant, low maintenance shrub is desired. The single 2" flowers open a creamy yellow, change to orange, then deep pink, and finally to crimson, with all of these blooms open at the same time it gives the appearance of a multitude of butterflies are covering the bush. Mutabilis Rose is a conversation starting repeat flowering heirloom garden rose with good disease resistance and average vigor. Double white flowers with a boss of yellow stamens adorn this easy to grow shrub in spring. One of the earliest large flowering Japonica Camellias to begin flowering, October Affair produces an abundance of perfectly formed, 3-4" wide, fully double flowers with cupped petals that are pure white at their center but with the outer rows of petals becoming tipped in light to rosy pink.
