The arrowhead shaped mainly solid colored foliage lights up with dark copper, red, orange, yellow, pink, and some green shades and can deepen to near purple in late summer, fall, and winter. Inferno Copper Plant has a naturally rounded habit on a compact well-branched plant growing to about 3' high and 3' wide making it a choice tropical for a medium-sized, heat and sunloving, low-maintenance container specimen or add it to the garden and landscape as an annual for a spring to frost show. In full to mostly sunny sites the foliage tends to be darkest and richest in copper, red, and orange shade and in shadier sites it may lean more toward the pastel lighter colors including green. The large, oval, green to blue green tropical foliage is heavily variegated with silvery white with a red-purple reverse and are perched at the ends of long red-purple petioles. The Never Never Plant, Ctenanthe setosa, is a suprisingly tough and cold hardy, rhizomatous, shade-loving tropical plant that can be grown as a container plant on a shaded porch or patio or utilize it as a low maintenance groundcover in mild winter climates (zones 9-10). It does prefer high humidity and so may need periodic misting or you can sit its container on a saucer full of rocks to supplement it. The stems of this Never Never Plant can reach nearly 3' high at maturity and like its cousins, the Prayer Plants, the leaves may fold up at night, they also have the ability to roll up to conserve moisture during dryer periods. Phantom Dwarf Joe-Pye Weed, Eupatorium

A slightly more compact Joe-Pye Weed-like hybrid, in summer Phantom Eupatorium produces large rounded clusters of purplish-pink flowers that sit atop sturdy dark maroon stems adorned with large medium green Joe-Pye Weed-like foliage. Pink Princess Philodendron (Grower's Choice)

Philodendron erubescens 'Pink Princess'

The near black to deep burgundy, glossy, heart-shaped tropical foliage is splashed and flecked with pink and white and the images shown are examples of how extreme the variegation can be with entire leaves or large portions of leaves being entirely pink. The Pink Princess Philodendron, a selection or hybrid of Philodendron erubescens, is a slow growing vine-like tropical plant which can be allowed to trail or trained to a support. It is tolerant of medium to semi-bright light conditions indoors and should not be exposed to direct sunlight even through a window. Outdoors on or a shaded porch or patio, the plants should be in light shade with no direct sunlight which can burn the foliage. Provide an average moist, fertile, well-drained soil for optimum vigor and never allow the plants to remain soggy wet even for short periods. Pink Skyrocket Foam Flower, Tiarella

Tiarella 'Pink Skyrocket' PP13382, EU13697

This wonderful low groundcover produces dense cone-shaped, upright flower spikes with red stems in mid to late spring, with some flowering later in the season, and are composed of tiny ball-shaped shrimp-pink buds that open to display the tiny white flowers. The flowers are held just above the palmate bluish-green to green foliage with each lobe displaying a black to burgundy main vein. In fall and under shade, the foliage becomes a deep shiny black and in sunnier sites it takes on deep bronze tones. Pink Skyrocket Foam Flower is an easy and rewarding low, stoloniferous (think Strawberry plants), semi-evergreen groundcover that is shade tolerant and will likely need shade in areas with hot summer climates. They will prefer a moist soil with ample organic matter and average or better drainage. The flowers are reported to be fragrant and are likely pollinated by smaller bees.
