Gulf Fritillary Magnet! (6/10/2019)
I planted it and a tiny vine grew, which died over winter, and I thought that was the end of that, but this spring it cane back with a vengeance and my yard has been full of a hundred gulf fritillaries and the vine got eaten down to nothing by their caterpillars, but totally rebounded and I imagine I’ll have butterflies all summer. It pops up vines from underground runners, which I’m not mad about—I dig them out of the lawn and plant them back in the flowers bed hoping they’ll take, but if you’re someone who doesn’t like invasives and tried to get rid of it, I think it would be a nightmare to try and eradicate. I just see it as got my money’s worth x 1000 and a lifetime supply of butterflies.
