I purchased this firecracker plant from Almost Eden and planted it carefully in a pot, since in Bend, Oregon, where I live, it will have to come indoors in the winter. It is not doing well at all. In fact, it is turning black on parts of the leaves and stems. I read online that it shouldn’t be in full sun, but other sources seem to indicate it should be fine in sun. It was in full sun so I have moved it to where it only gets morning sun. I also read it can be overwatered so I will decrease watering to see if those two changes help at all. This does not seem to be the carefree plant others describe. I probably dont live in the correct climate for it to thrive.
Overwatering is the typical cause for leaves and stems to turn black on Firecracker Fern. Please see our growing guides for proper planting and watering techniques. - Jeff McMillian - Almost Eden

Received the 5 Firecracker ferns I ordered from you. The young plants are very healthy, undamaged from the packing process and arrived in excellent condition. I ordered plants from a famous company a few weeks ago and the plants I received from them were badly damaged, in bad health and 1/2 of the plants did not survive. I will definitely order from you again and I will recommend you to all of my friends!!
I loved you all since I found you when we lived in Alaska. My 3 Firecracker Ferns arrived intact and in great shape. Thanks so much for the care you give to sending plants through the mail. I am off to your instruction pages on the care of the plants, I first saw them with my sister when she was in Texas, fell in love with them, and now have some.
Margaret,
Thank you so very much for your kind words and we are so glad you are happy with them!
Sincerely,
