Hoya cumingiana, Paluki, Porcelain Flower, Wax Flower
Hoya cumingiana

Hanging clusters of buttery yellow fragrant flowers that are centered by a purple to burgundy star-shaped corona are produced during the warmer months of the year. Hoya cumingiana, or Paluki in its native Phillipines, is somewhat of a sprawling shrub-like Hoya with closely stacked small rounded glossy medium green foliage that may be at its best when trained to a support like a small trellis. Its foliage is nice enough that it could be grown for its architectural form with the flowers simply as a bonus. This is considered to be one of the easier to grow shrub-like Hoyas that mainly needs to be allowed to dry out somewhat between waterings. The fragrant flowers are likely to draw butterflies and other pollinators. Its ease of growth, unusual looking foliage, and fragrant flowers make this Hoya one of the more sought after species.
