The Yellow Mandevilla, Pentalinon luteum or Urechites lutea, is a vigorous twining, naturally evergreen, tropical vine native to southern Florida, the Caribbean, and Honduras. It is vigorous enough to cover a small arbor or medium-sized trellis but is mannerly enough to be maintained on a smaller 3-4' high support where it can be enjoyed as container plant for a sunny patio. Zephirine Drouhin is thorn-less, fragrant, disease resistant, and shade tolerant, what more can you ask from a climbing rose? 2-1/2 to 3" strongly fragrant, deep pink cupped roses are borne in mass in spring, with some blooms in summer and fall once once established. Being thorn-less, this is an excellent rose to grow on an arbor, a trellis, or in an area where people will be passing near by and the fragrance will get their attention if the sheer beauty of this rose does not.
