Pink Amistad Salvia, Friendship Sage

Salvia 'ARGGR17011' PP35076

A new twist on one of our favorite Salvias! An endless display of 2" long, medium to pastel pink, tubular flowers that emerge from dark colored calyxes are borne from spring to frost attracting hummingbirds, larger butterflies, and larger bees. Pink Amistad Salvia, a Salvia guaranitica S. orbignaei hybrid, is a slowly spreading, herbaceous perennial growing to about 3-4'H x 3-4'W and is adorned in rich green, anise-scented, deer resistant foliage. Provide the Anise-Scented Sages with an average moist to moist, moderately fertile, average to well drained soil in full sun to partial shade for optimum vigor and flowering. Pink Mulberry Salvia, Sage

Salvia 'Pink Mulberry' (S. greggii 'Alba' x S. involucrata)

Adorning purplish-red spikes and emerging from similarly colored calyxes, the mulberry pink tubular flowers are accented by contrasting white lower lips and a fuzzy bright fuchsia hood. Flowering occurs from late spring or early summer to fall. Pink Mulberry Salvia, an uncommon hybrid between S. greggii 'Alba' x S. involucrata, is a shrub-like, herbaceous tender perennial sage that lands somewhere between its parents in looks and growth habit reaching about 3-4' high and 2-3' wide by the end of the summer. Hummingbirds will likely be unable to resist its charming flowers and sweet nectar. Plum Crazy Salvia, Anise Sage

A star in 2023 trials and was reported especially popular with polllinators! The large, 2" long, tubular, deep red-purple flowers emerge from even darker burgundy spikes and calyxes from spring to fall attracting a host of pollinators including hummingbirds, larger butterflies, and larger bees. Plum Crazy Salvia, a hybrid with Salvia guaranitica and S. splendens in its parentage, is a clump forming, herbaceous perennial growing to about 3-4' high and wide and is adorned with deep green foliage. Use these types of Salvias in the garden and landscape for dazzling summer color or in medium to large mixed or specimen containers to draw the pollinators in close. Spikes of intense electric blue tubular flowers with a pair of constrasting bright white bee guide markings are produced from spring to fall attracting likely mainly bees and other smaller pollinators. Sinaloan Blue Sage, Salvia sinaloensis, is a low growing, clump forming perennial that can spread via both stolons above ground and rhizomes below ground and building to about 12-18" high and wide. Its rounded ovate foliage takes on bronze and red tones, especially in sunny sites, which contrast nicely with the dark flowers. Sinaloan Blue Sage is noted for its shade tolerance but may be best sited in a full to mostly sunny site in a well-drained, average moist, fertile soil.
