Clusters of pale pink trumpets with dark pink throats are produced throughout the growing season or year round under warm frost free conditions on this easy to grow twining climber with fine-textured, glossy, deep green foliage. The Pink Bower Vine is a vigorous, naturally evergreen vine that is well suited for covering sunny arbors, fences, and trellises and yet can easily enough be enjoyed as a container plant where not hardy. Provide full to mostly sunny conditions for the best flowering although the Bower Vine will tolerate light shade and still flower moderately well. Item# 11164

Deep purplish-blue 3-petaled flowers emerge in succession from long-lasting flattened purplish-pink bracts in both spring and fall atop the rosette of narrow deep green arching foliage. The Pink Quill Plant, Tillandsia cyanea or now Wallisia cyanea, is one of the easiest to grow and most popular bromeliads which can be enjoyed as a small container plant, hanging basket, or it can be attached to wood as an epiphyte. This dainty bromeliad was awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit for its ease of culture and reliability. The Pink Quill Plant will multiply creating pups from the base of the mother plant after flowering which can be left to create full rootbound plants that flower longer. Provide an average moist but well-drained soil and allow the soil to become slightly dry between waterings. Item# 11924

2-1/2" wide, miniature Amaryllis-like, white flowers are heavily blushed with pink toward the ends of the recurving petals. A wonderful and easy bulbous perennial, the Pink Rainlily or Brazilian Copper Lily flowers on and off from mid spring to fall and the flowers are held well-above the narrow, strap-like foliage.  8-14" high pyramidal clusters of up to 40 pinkish-red ball-like buds open to yellow butterfly-like blooms, then fade to a deep orange and gold, and finally turning to a deep reddish-orange to red. The Pride of Barbados, Caesalpinia pulcherrima, is a large growing tropical to subtropical shrub to tender shrub-like perennial that makes a fantastic show throughout summer. Give it plenty of room and a well-drained, moderately fertile soil, preferably in full to mostly sunny site. Plant with caution as butterflies and hummingbirds will repeatedly attack the flowers. Masses of lightly fragrant, white, double starry flowers accented with a touch of rose pink on the outer petals are produced in mid to late spring to early summer nearly covering up this easy to grow heirloom. The Pride of Rochester Fuzzy Deutzia, a selection of Deutzia scabra or sometimes D. crenata, is an easy to grow and low maitenance medium to large growing deciduous shrub with a fountaining habit growing to about 6-10' high and wide. It gets nice yellow fall color even here in the southern US and has reddish to orange exfoliating bark adding to its interest in winter. The Fuzzy Deutzia is moderately drought resistant once fully established and seems to be fairly pest and disease resistant when grown in well-drained soils. A Camellia Hall of Fame Award winner! Large to very large semi-double flowers of a deep watermelon red with a large nicely contrasting boss of golden yellow stamens are produced over an extended period from as early as November with some flowers in March on mature plants. The Red Firecracker Fern produces loads of 1" showy red tubular flowers that are born in large loose clusters along the arching ferny stems throughout the warmer months of the year or nearly year round where winters are mild. Excellent for Hummingbirds! This is a durable and long-lived, clump forming perennial that requires little additional care once well-established. The Firecracker Fern has excellent heat and sun tolerance as well as moderate drought resistance once well-established. It is even listed as being suitable for xeriscaping. Firecracker Fern, Russelia equisetiformis, is listed as a Texas A&M Outstanding Coastal Plant as it has excellent resistance to soil and wind born salts, though it could use some protection from harsh, drying winds. It is also an RHS Award of Garden Merit selection. It can be used as a low informal hedge, allow it to spill over walls, enjoy it as a hanging basket, window box, or container specimen, as well as in mixed container gardens. Item# 417

A seemingly continuous display of upright to arching spikes composed of large showy maroon bracts from which the individual pink lipped tubular flowers emerge from spring to fall to year round under warm tropical conditions. This plant has exceptional flower power and makes a beautiful display as a container plant specimen and in mixed container gardens as well as in the garden and landscape. The common Red Shrimp Plant, Justicia brandegeeana, is a heat loving, naturally evergreen, bushy, tropical plant with dark olive green foliage and grows to about 24" high by about 18" wide. It is both full sun and bright shade tolerant but tends to have the densest branching habit where it receives at least 4 hours or more of direct sunlight. Provide an average to well-drained, moderately fertile, average moist soil for optimum vigor and flowering. Deep rose pink, fuzzy tubular flowers are produced in spikes atop the tall stems of this vigorous and free flowering hummingbird magnet! Rosebud Sage is a vigorous and hardy Salvia that begins flowering in early summer and continues into fall on a plant that can easily reach 6' x 6' so allow for plenty of room. A native of Mexico it is a die-back perennial into zone 7 if give protection and a winter mulch. Provide a moderately fertile, well-drained, average moist soil in a full to mostly sunny location for the best results. Item# 11143

The dark colored nearly black spikes and calyxes provide a dark contrast to the brilliant glowing red two-lipped tubular flowers that are sure to draw hummingbirds for miles from spring to fall! Royal Bumble Salvia, a selection or hybrid of the native Littleleaf Sage, S. microphylla, is a 2015 Royal Horticulture Society Award of Garden Merit winner with excellent vigor and amazing flower power all on a compact well-branched plant. An old favorite and an excellent performer Royal Red Butterfly Bush produces a continuous wave of rich reddish-purple spikes of flowers that are adored by butterflies, bees, and other beneficials. The flowers are richly fragrant with an aroma reminiscent of honey. Royal Red is vigorous and fast growing quickly developing into a medium-sized deciduous shrub that flowers from late spring until frost. Item#  630.

Strongly fragrant 1" white star-like blooms in clusters of 3-12 are produced on new growth from spring to fall. The fragrant white waxy flower petals are used to flavor Jasmine tea and Jasmine rice. An evergreen twining climber or arching shrub growing to 8' high if left to its own devices but it can certainly be pruned to keep it in bounds. An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner! Medium to large, lightly fragrant, loose peony form to semi-double, medium silvery-pink flowers with a boss of yellow stamens are produced in early to midseason, November to February. The pollen laden and fragrant flowers are likely to attract bees and other pollinators on warmer days. Scentsation Camellia is a large type Japonica with a moderate to vigorous, densely branching, upright to rounded habit. Large balloon-like buds open to purplish-blue star-shaped cup-like flowers. A longtime favorite in the perennial garden, Sentimental Blue Balloon Flower is a selection that boasts a compact habit and plenty of flower power that starts in early summer and can last into fall. An easy to grow perennial that may reseed under good conditions. Provide a moist but well-drained soil with a half a day or more of sun. The most vigorous growing of the Banana Magnolias or Banana Shrubs, Skinner's Banana Magnolia produces 1" long, sweetly banana scented, creamy yellow, cupped, miniature Magnolia flowers in spring and may produce some flowers until fall once mature. Still somewhat uncommon in the nursery trade, this small but vigorous evergreen tree or large shrub has a naturally upright to pyramidal habit with dark green glossy foliage.
