New for 2023! Loose spikes of golden orange flowers are produced sporadically throughout the growing season to potentially year round under warm tropical conditions atop short sturdy stems to about 2-3' high. Molten Gold Ginger, a hybrid Hedychium, is a naturally dwarf, rhizomatous herbaceous tropical to die-back perennial that can be enjoyed both as a container specimen or in the garden and landscape in zones 7-10. The fragrant flowers are likely to attract butterflies and potentially hummingbirds and it is reported to flower about three times per year in winter, spring, and fall under warm freeze and frost-free conditions. As a container specimen, it can be brought indoors in winter into an area with direct sunlight to high indirect sunlight. Hedychiums typically do best in a partly shaded to full sun site, in an average moist to moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Image courtesy of AG3, Inc., all rights reserved. Item# 13152
