Cold Hardy Camellias for Zone 7A
These Camellias, Sasanquas, and hybrids are considered to be reliably cold hardy and reliably flowering in zones 7A and warmer. This includes some that are even fragrant, an uncommon trait among these members of the Tea family or Theaceae. To learn more about how to grow these relatively easy evergreen shrubs checkout our Camellia and Sasanqua Growing Guide.

Camellia sasanqua 'Purple Haze'
2-3" perfect rose form red, purplish-red, to purple blossoms emerge in profusion in mid fall and flowering may continue well into January. Cool weather helps to produce the purple tones. Purple Haze has a tidy compact growth habit making it a good choice where space is an issue. Use this compact evergreen shrub as a low hedge or accent.
