Digitalis hybrid ‘DG 09/4’ PP25442

Award winning flower power! Tall dense spikes of fuchsia to red foxglove flowers with contrasting orange, pale yellow, to cream colored throats that are overlaid with dark flecking and are produced from mid to late spring until fall attracting hummingbirds, bees, and other pollinators. Illumination™ Flame Digiplexis was the first of these now highly popular cross-generic hybrids between the tropical Canary Island Isoplexis (now classified as a Digitalis) and Digitalis purpurea producing a vigorous exceptionally free flowering hybrid. This is a rosette forming perennial with large medium-green quilted foliage that is resistant to rust and other foliar diseases common to typical Foxgloves. These new longer flowering hybrids can be added to the garden and landscape but also make showy container specimens. Indigo Dream Passionflower, a Patrick Worley and Rick McCain hybrid with Incense in its parentage, is a moderately vigorous, naturally evergreen tropical vine that clings to supports via tendrils and makes an easy summer climber for medium to large trellises, arbors, or allow it to trail along a fence. One of the darkest Iochromas, Indigo is a prolific flowering selection on a vigorous growing upright to spreading, naturally evergreen tropical shrub. This miniature cousin of the Angel's Trumpet is easily enjoyed as a container plant where not hardy. Provide good drainage and fertile, average moist soil in partial to filtered sun for the best results. The arrowhead shaped mainly solid colored foliage lights up with dark copper, red, orange, yellow, pink, and some green shades and can deepen to near purple in late summer, fall, and winter. Inferno Copper Plant has a naturally rounded habit on a compact well-branched plant growing to about 3' high and 3' wide making it a choice tropical for a medium-sized, heat and sunloving, low-maintenance container specimen or add it to the garden and landscape as an annual for a spring to frost show. In full to mostly sunny sites the foliage tends to be darkest and richest in copper, red, and orange shade and in shadier sites it may lean more toward the pastel lighter colors including green. Clusters of starry, pure white flowers with red-purple 'eyes' may be produced throughout the year on well grown, well-established plants and are likely to attract hummingbird moths with their light perfume. Iris Marie Hoya, a hybrid cultivar, is a scandent shrub-like tropical that produces upright stems that eventually arch once they are too large and heavy for the stems to maintain upright or they can be trained to a support. The large ovate deep green glossy foliage is pretty enough on its own to make this easy and vigorous Hoya a worthy house plant. Provide a fertile, well-drained, quality cactus-mix like soil allowing the soil to become somewhat dry between waterings. Jean Pasko Angel's Trumpet, sometimes Jean Pasco, produces 10" long, fragrant, dangling trumpets that are a combination of dark orange, gold, and yellow. A natural hybrid discovered by its namesake in Columbia and is a widely popular and free-flowering selection. Angel's Trumpets are fast growing tropical shrubs that act-like dieback perennials in the northern parts of its range but readily return from the roots in spring.
