The large 7-8" wide white to light pink flowers are centered by a deep red eye that radiates outward along the veins of the petals and the light colored petals darken slightly at the outer edges and are a standout against the darkly contrasting deep maroon foliage. SUMMERIFIC® Perfect Storm Perennial Hibiscus flowers throughout summer and is an indeterminate type meaning that they flower all up and down the stems instead of just on the upper half of the plants creating a knockout display in the garden and landscape. Large dense burgundy to purple tinged flower spikes and calyxes contrast nicely with the sunny yellow pea-like flowers and are held above the rich foliage in spring. Sunny Morning Prairieblues™ Baptisia or False Indigo, is a Baptisia sphaerocarpa x B. alba hybrid developed by Dr. Jim Ault of the Chicago Botanic Gardens and Chicagoland Grows and that exhibits a strong resemblence its yellow flowered parent, B. sphaerocarpa, and begins flowering about a week to ten days early than the species and maintains a dense uniform habit throughout the growing season. It was selected as one of the top ten in the 2012-15 Baptisia Trials at Mount Cuba Center and is reported to produce as many as 250 flowering stems on mature plants! The Prairieblues™ Baptisias were selected not only for their unique colors but also for their extra large flower spikes, durability, and vigor. The Roselle that we grow is definitely Hibiscus sabdariffa var. sabdariffa of the race ruber that is known for its large, thick, deep clear wine red, crispy, sweet, cranberry flavored calyxes.A vigorous annual to tender perennial, Roselle Hibiscus prefers a warm, mostly sunny position in a well-draining, humus rich, moderately fertile, sandy-loam and free from competition. Large deep green heart shaped foliage is veined with silver and randomly splotched with maroon and black. The Variegated Monkey Ball Vine is a vigorous but manageable and unusual perennial twining tropical vine that will grow to the height of its support whether 6' or 30' high. Most resources suggest that it is only hardy to zone 10 but we have it in the ground here in zone 8B and it comes back reliably if well-established before cool fall and winter weather sets in. Also known as Ornamental Yam, Dioscorea dodecaneura, it is late to emerge from natural winter dormancy in spring but grows vigorously once it takes off. It can be easily overwintered indoors as a container plant where not hardy. Item# 3128

Loose hyacinth-like spikes of dainty green flowers with recurving petals and contrasting dark purple filaments and yellow stamens are held above the narrow silvery foliage with dark green spots and reddish-purple reverses in spring after a dry winter dormancy. This is an easy to grow dwarf scilla or squill, tentatively Ledebouria socialis 'Violacea' as there are many similar horticultural forms within this species, is a dwarf growing, evergreen herbaceous tropical succulent that grows from a thickened above ground bulb and readily multiplies happily filling its container. This should make an easy windowsill, porch, or patio plant where it receives bright indirect sunlight or a small amount of cool early morning or filtered sunlight. Provide this easy to grow plant with a well-drained, cactus-like soil and allow the soil to become moderately dry between waterings. If it gets too dry it will wilt to let you know but it readily recovers once moisture is applied. During active growth, average moisture is preferred and it can be allowed to remain a good deal dryer when dormant. The ovate light green tropical foliage is alternately banded with contrasting dark and light green and has a light green midvein and edging. The Zebra Plant, Goeppertia zebrina previously Calathea zebrinus, adds a delightful tropical look whether it is used as a specimen container plant or as a perennial in shaded gardens and landscapes. This is an easy to grow tropical, naturally evergreen, rhizomatous perennial from southeastern Brazil that prefers an average moist soil rich in organic matter with good drainage as it never wants to remain soggy wet. Prefers high humidity levels which may be supplemented when grown indoors by setting it in a saucer fill with rocks and water.
