Snow White Camellia

Camellia japonica 'Snow White'

A pure white, perfect form Camellia whose medium-sized flowers provide a brilliant contrast to the deep green glossy foliage. In our garden, Snow White has been exceptionally slow growing and has barely reached 3' high in 30+ years. I cannot say for sure that our cutting grown plants will grow as slowly under good conditions but I would expect it to have a compact upright to rounded habit. Either way Snow White should be an excellent choice for containers, bonsai, and in front of larger growing cultivars in the garden. Item# 11343

In a full to mostly sunny position limbs will often reach to ground even on mature trees and the dense thick foliage makes a nearly impenetrable mulch beneath them. String of Pearls

Senecio rowleyanus, Kleinia rowleyanus

An unusual and popular trailing succulent, the String of Pearls produces strings of perfectly round, pearl-sized, green to grayish green leaves that can reach 18-36" in length. This easy to grow succulent makes a beautiful small hanging basket or allow it to trail and spill from containers where it is sure to be a conversation piece. Not only is the foliage of this plant unique in form, each round leaf has a small slightly darker green narrow slit-like "epidermal window" that allows more light to enter the internal part of the leaf to help make up for the leave's overall reduced surface area, due to being round instead of flat, for photosynthesis. Provide a well-drained, cactus-like soil and allow the soil to become slightly dry between waterings. Prefers high light conditions but no direct sunlight. We ship nice full plants that are already beginning to trail. Item# 1125
