It's hard to beat Turk's Cap for sheer flower power! From summer to fall the brilliant red flowers just keep coming. Red Hot, a.k.a. Red Spreader, is a lower growing and more spreading form of Turk's Cap with slightly larger red flowers that was selected by plantsman Greg Grant who also developed Pam Puryear's Pink, and Big Momma. Greg says that Red Hot has a more noticeable lower and spreading habit when grown in full sun. Excellent for Hummingbirds and Butterflies, especially the Sulphurs. Item# 9726.

Long chains of large fiery red pea-like flowers are produced in fall and winter. An unusual, vigorous tropical to subtropical vine the Red Jade Vine is considered to be one of the more cold hardy of the Jade Vines. This species is sometimes listed as a dwarf though it definitely gets quite large and will need a stout support in time. It is semi-shade tolerant but seems to prefer ample sunlight for the best growth and flowering. The Red Jade Vine is pollinated by hummingbirds. Item# 11426

The large clusters of tubular flowers with recurving to erect petals attract hummingbirds, and larger butterflies, and larger bees rob nectar via holes that they create at the base of the flower. This is an easy to grow, heat and sun-loving, tropical vine-like or scandent shrub that can be used as a large arching to fountaining shrub, hedge, trained as a vine or espalier, as well as tree standards. The Red Shrimp Plant produces a continuous display of upright to arching spikes composed of large showy maroon bracts from which the individual maroonish-red and white tubular flowers emerge in spring and summer to year round under warm tropical conditions. This plant has exceptional flower power and makes a beautiful display as a container plant specimen and in mixed container gardens as well as in the garden and landscape. The common Shrimp Plant, Justicia brandegeeana, seems to be happiest where it has some respite from hot midday sun in hot summer climates.
