Pagoda Flower

Clerodendrum paniculatum

The Pagoda Flower produces huge spikes of 1/2" coral-pink to reddish orange butterfly shaped flowers from mid summer well into fall. The spikes can reach 18" high and are shaped very similarly to a Chinese pagoda with flowers opening continuously over a period of weeks. The large velvety, generally heart-shaped foliage creates the perfect foil for the flower display and adds to its tropical appearance. Item# 10022.

2-3" spikes of light pink to white, dainty flowers are followed by 1/8" bright clear red berries on a continuous cycle from spring to fall. The fruit are enjoyed by a variety of songbirds and the flowers are utilized by smaller pollinators. Pigeonberry is a groundcover like perennial with a relaxed, spreading to upright habit and is tolerant of dry shade once well established but prefers average moisture during the growing season for the best flowering and fruiting. It looks great spilling from mixed containers or as an informal or naturalistic and low maintenance groundcover in shaded conditions. Pigeonberry readily reseeds but is generally not considered to be aggressive or uncontrollable. Item# 10782.
