Professor Charles S. Sargent Camellia
Camellia japonica 'Professor Charles S. Sargent'
Long one of our favorites for its reliably long and showy display! The densely packed, deep dark red, medium-sized, peony form flowers are produced over an extended period beginning as early as late November and continuing into May. Professor Charles S. Sargent Camellia is a prized heirloom Large Flowered Japonica type with a moderately vigorous growth rate and an initially upright habit that becomes rounded with age and growing to about 10-12' high and 6-8' wide at maturity. For optimum growth and vigor provide Camellias with a fertile soil rich in organic matter, with average moisture, and an organic mulch. See our Camellia Growing Guide for in-depth planting and care instructions. Item# 9195
