Large 2" long rosy-pink tubular flowers emerge from contrasting light bronze and rose tinged calyxes in dense spikes atop the deep green glossy foliage from spring until first frost. Skyscraper™ Pink Salvia is a mid-sized well-branched and exceptionally free flowering Sage perfectly suited for use in medium-sized containers as well as in sunny garden and landscape settings. The Skyscraper series grows to about one half the size of the Wish series Salvias and flowers longer than typical Tropical Salvia, Salvia splendens, selections. Slim's Orange Scarlet Ginger (Red-Orange)

Hedychium coccineum 'Slim's Orange'

Dark reddish-orange flowers emerge from tall spikes that sit atop short and sturdy upright stems with narrow bluish-gray green tropical looking foliage and begins flowering as early June with flowers on and off through summer into fall on established plants. Slim's Orange Scarlet Ginger has about the most compact habit of the any of the other Scarlet Ginger cultivars topping out at 3-4' high making it an excellent choice for containers as well as the garden and landscape. As with most Hedychiums provide a partly shaded area to full sun, in an average moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Slim's Orange Scarlet Ginger is vigorous, easy and hardy. Item# 11524

Spikes of spurred, golden yellow, 1/2-3/4" long tubular flowers are produced in late winter and early to midspring at the tips of the stems attracting smaller bees and other pollinators. Smallflower Fumeflower, Corydalis micrantha subsp. australis, is a fall and winter growing, native, spring flowering annual with finely cut deep blue-green foliage adorning the low growing stems. It is found naturally from near central Texas, throughout Louisiana and Arkansas, eastward along the Gulf Coast, and in the coastal counties of North and South Carolina as well as in a few other inland areas in Illinois and Missourri. Smallflower Fumeflower, we grew up knowing as Scrambled Eggs, is typically found in sandy to loamy soils with excellent drainage. It readily reseeds on exposed soils and in disturbed sites. Provide a full sun to partly shaded site in naturalistic areas like roadsides, meadows, and prairies. So Cool Pale Blue Salvia, Littleleaf Sage

Salvia 'So Cool Pale Blue' (S. microphylla hybrid) EU PVR

Spikes of light purple tubular buds open to display the large pale bluish purple lower lips attracting hummingbirds, larger bees, and even the occassional butterfly. The show starts in spring and continues through summer into fall on well-established plants. The compact, densely branching, upright to rounded habit lends So Cool Pale Blue Salvia for use as easy and low maintenance container specimens for even the hottest locations. Add this tough little free flowering Littleleaf Salvia hybrid to a sunny garden and landscape to bring the temperature down a notch. This shrub-like perennial that may remain evergreen in mild winter climates, like zones 9B-10, but acts like a die-back perennial where temperatures fall much below about 30oF. Dense spikes of rosy pink tubular flowers are produced in late summer and fall atop sturdy stems attracting butterflies, larger bees, and hummingbirds. The Southern Fall Obedient Plant, Physostegia virginiana ssp. praemorsa, is a clump forming species of Physostegia, whereas most species spread via long rhizomes, this one is a much more mannerly native perennial better suited to garden culture. It will slowly multiply developing into a dense clump of foliage and flowering stems.  The large yellow flowers of this unusual Hibiscus are centered with a deep red star from which emerges a long pistil that ends in a fluff of flower petals like a pom-pom. This is a rare form of the El Capitolio Hibiscus and like its parent it is a vigorous, free flowering plant. The El Capitolio Hibiscus' have the potential to flower throughout the year under good conditions and with enough warmth and sunlight.The large flowers often have a streak of white and may even revert to single Hibiscus flowers during the short days of winter. Star Flower Scorpio Red Anise

Illicium hybrid 'NCIH1' PP29939

The large dark maroonish-red starry flowers are produced multiple times per year beginning in early spring and are held against a foil of deep green foliage all on a compact plant. Star Flower Scorpio Anise was developed and introduced by Dr. Tom Raney at NCSU's Mountain Crop Improvement Lab for both its ability to flower throughout the growing season as well as a neat, naturally rounded bushy habit. Like its parent the Red Anise, Illicium floridanum, it will tolerate full sun but it seems to be at its best where it receives midday to afternoon shade in a moist to average moist, well-drained, fertile soil. Like most other species of Illicium, this is not a plant to be used as a spice even though the crushed foliage has the typical licorice or anise-like fragrance. Stevie's Wonder Lily of the Nile, Agapanthus (Blue-Purple, Cold Hardy)

Huge round clusters composed of extra large bell-shaped deep violet-blue flowers held on sturdy stems atop the narrow strap-like medium green foliage in late spring to early summer and potentially into fall on well-established clumps. Stevie's Wonder Lily of the Nile or Agapanthus is a vigorous, clump-forming perennial with a tropical look but this cultivar has proven to have excellent hardiness into zone 7. The flowering spikes are typically 2-3' high in areas that experience hardy winter freezes (zone 7-8) but they are reported to reach up to 6' high in zone 9 with reports that the flower clusters can reach near volleyball size! The flowers of Agapanthus attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The large conical, bottlebrush-like spikes, to 6" long and 3" wide, are composed of tubular flowers that curl around curiously at their tips in shades of red, yellow, orange, coral pink, to cream are produced most heavily during the warmest months of the year to nearly year-round in mild winter climates attracting both hummingbirds and bees. Superb Grevillea, one of the first hybrids and still widely planted across much of Australia, is a vigorous, well-branched, small to medium-sized, heat and sunloving, evergreen shrub that is cloaked in medium-textured deeply cut rich green foliage. Sweet Pomegranate

Punica granatum 'Sweet'

One of the very sweetest and earliest ripening! The crepe-like orange-pink spring flowers are followed by large, pink to green blushed red fruit that produce pink to pink blushed, exceptionally sweet, and flavorful arils that surround medium seeds and typically ripen in late summer and early fall. Good for both juice, which is clear to light pink, and fresh eating. The Sweet Pomegranate is considered to be a semi-dwarf, multi-stemmed large, deciduous shrub to small tree typically growing to about 10' x 10'. It will fruit and flower best where it receives about 150 chill hours. Provide a full to mostly sunny site in average moist to periodically dry, well-drained, fertile soil for optimum vigor and production. The Sweet Pomegranate is self-fruitful but may produce larger fruit and larger crops with a cross-pollinator which can be any other cultivar of Pomegranate. Item# 13029

Large 2" long rosy-pink tubular flowers emerge from contrasting light bronze and rose tinged calyxes in dense spikes atop the deep green glossy foliage from spring until first frost. Skyscraper™ Pink Salvia is a mid-sized well-branched and exceptionally free flowering Sage perfectly suited for use in medium-sized containers as well as in sunny garden and landscape settings. The Skyscraper series grows to about one half the size of the Wish series Salvias and flowers longer than typical Tropical Salvia, Salvia splendens, selections. It is reported to have some winter hardiness into zone 7B. Provide a full to mostly sunny site in an average moist well-drained fertile soil.
