The Red Cape Honeysuckle produces masses of dark red 2" tubular flowers in large clusters in summer and fall or nearly continuously throughout the year under frost free conditions. This easy heat and sun loving tropical can be grown as a medium to large arching shrub or hedge, vine or espalier, and can be trained into tree standards. This very rare red flowered form of Chinese Hat produces red tubular blooms that emerge from the Chinese hat-like red calyxes are produced from late summer to autumn along the arching stems of this unusual shrub. An excellent late summer and fall flowering shrub-like to die-back perennial for a sunny location. Easy and begins flowering just in time for the Hummingbird migration southward. Long chains of large fiery red pea-like flowers are produced in fall and winter. An unusual, vigorous tropical to subtropical vine the Red Jade Vine is considered to be one of the more cold hardy of the Jade Vines. This species is sometimes listed as a dwarf though it definitely gets quite large and will need a stout support in time. It is semi-shade tolerant but seems to prefer ample sunlight for the best growth and flowering. The Red Jade Vine is pollinated by hummingbirds. Item# 11426
