8'H or Larger Shrubs
Evergreen and deciduous shrubs and small trees that naturally grow larger than about 8 feet high. Their size makes these plants well suited to use as formal and informal natural screens, specimen plants, larger hedges, and many can be trained into elegant single or multi-trunked tree forms and espaliers. These group often includes the fastest growing shrubs and some will make suitable specimens for large to very large containers when young.
From a profusion of buds emerge 3" wide, pure white, nicely fragrant flowers whose petals are notched at the end and surround a boss of yellow stamens. Yuhsienensis Camellia is a moderately vigorous grower with a naturally dense branching habit on an upright to rounded evergreen shrub. Flowering begins early in the season and may continue well into midseason (November to January). This is a parent of the hybrid Yume Camellia which itself was used to create the "Dream" series from Bobby Green and Green's Nurseries. Camellia yuhsienensis has also been used to breed fragrant Camellia cultivars. Item# 11334
