The frilly ferny deep plum colored foliage is daintily edged in contrasting lime green to yellow on a mounding medium-sized plant. Lady Clare Camellia, its name upon import into the US, is a large vigorous Camellia with a somewhat weeping habit with large dark green foliage. Omega Skyrocket Stokesia Daisy, Stoke's Aster

Stokesia laevis 'Omega Skyrocket'

A giant among Stokesias, Omega Skyrocket can reach heights of 3-4' when in flower and still produces the same large cornflower blue daisies typical of the species beginning in late spring with an extended flowering season that can continue into mid and late summer on well-established plants. Omega Skyrocket Stokesia was discovered by Ozzie Johnson and Ron Determann of the Atlanta Botanical Garden in Omega, Georgia in the1990s. Stoke's Aster comes highly recommended and it's easy to see why with moderate drought resistance, few pest or disease problems, deer and rabbit resistance and it revels in the heat and sun of our southern summers. 3-5" wide light pale pink to purplish pink coneflowers with drooping petals are held well above the rosette of narrow foliage on sturdy stems. Flowering normally occurs in late spring and summer and the nectar rich disk flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. The Pale Purple Coneflower, Echinacea pallida, closely resembles the Sanguin Purple Coneflower, E. sanguinea, and like its cousin it is a taprooted, clump-forming perennial found mainly in the central US in meadows, glades, and other open areas.
