Brilliant orange fading to pink and finally red and burgundy into the eye. The 4-5" flowers just seem to keep coming all summer long on a compact but vigorous enough tropical hibiscus. Large, 2" long, bright cherry red, tubular flowers emerge from whorls of burgundy tipped yellow-green calyxes from spring to frost on a semi-compact plant with deep green foliage. Fashion™ Cherry Salvia is similar to the Wish series of Tropical Salvias but has a slightly more compact habit reaching about 30"x30" by the end of summer. It makes an easy, heat and sunloving specimen plant or it can be used in mixed company, as well as providing spring to fall color in the garden and landscape. This Salvia is also daylength neutral and so can flower year-round under warm frost free conditions. Sure to draw hummingbirds and the occasional larger butterfly throughout the growing season.  Provide a full to mostly sunny site in an average moist well-drained fertile soil. A low dwarf form of Hoya that trails vigorously, and whose clusters of cream-colored to pure white flowers fill the air with a very lovely perfume for most of the year on established plants grown under good conditions. The Fragrant Hoya, Hoya lacunosa, is wonderful for a small hanging basket, as a groundcover beneath larger plants, and spilling from mixed container gardens in warm shaded sites. Its turn-your-head, intense Jasmine-like fragrance is strongest, even rivalling and exceeding some of the true Jasmines (Jasminum spp.), Gardenias, Night Blooming Jasmine, Night Blooming Cereus, Angel's Trumpet (Brugmansia spp. and hybrids) and Sweet Olives, after sunset when the dainty clusters of white nectar rich flowers may turn amber colored due to the dripping golden nectar. Large white trumpets heavily edged in a deep rich pink skirt, hang in loose clusters from this large tropical shrub. Angel's Trumpets are fast growing tropical shrubs that act-like die-back perennials in the northern parts of their range but readily return from the roots in spring. They also make easy to enjoy container plants that can be overwintered indoors. Item# 424.

The red to pinkish-red and white tubular flowers emerge from between the spikes of chartreuse bracts from spring to fall to year-round under warm tropical conditiosn. The Fruit Cocktail Shrimp Plant, one the newest selections of Justicia brandegeeana, has a naturally more compact, better branching habit than the typical Red Shrimp Plant but in all other regards it is nearly identical. It is quite tolerant of light conditions ranging from full sun to light shade but may have the densest habit in sunnier conditions. The flowers attract hummingbirds, larger butterflies, and other pollinators.
