Zephyranthes 'La Bufa Rosa White'

Widely flaring white, up to 2" wide flowers are borne from spring through fall with flowers appearing in greatest abundance after rains. With arching to upright narrow strap-like foliage and excellent durability rainlilies make a good choice for the front of the perennial border. Use them in mass plantings to great effect. Multiplies readily and often readily reseed. Tolerant of sun or shade and wet or dry although the best flowering is likely to occur with a sunnier location. Item# 10934.

Lady Margaret Passion Flower, Passionvine

Passiflora 'Lady Margaret'

The large, 3-4" wide, raspberry red flowers are centered by a corolla of raspberry red filaments that fade to bright white at the center. Lady Margaret Passionflower is a prolific flowering hybrid that is a showoff throughout the year in frost free conditions. The fuzzy foliage and stems are utilized by Gulf Fritillary but are not considered safe for Zebra Longwings and possibly other species of Heliconian butterfly caterpillars. Lady Lavender Passionflower is a sterile Patrick Worley cultivar considered to be hardy to near 10oF. The stems are adorned with lemony to bergamot scented narrow foliage. Lemon Beebalm is a moderately drought resistant native annual species found throughout much of the central and eastern US. The 2-3" wide cupped fragrant roses have red outer petals with deep rose inner petals and are produced throughout the growing season on this disease resistant small shrub. This long-loved rose from 1834 bears many names attesting to its prowess as a garden and landscape rose and it is one of the few roses that has proven resistant to chili thrips in Florida. It is very similar to the ever popular Craimoisi Superieur with which it is often confused but Louis Philippe generally has a more compact habit growing to 3-4' high and wide on average and the flowers seem to be more pink in the inner petals. Like all China Roses provide this easy to grow plant with a full to mostly sunny site in an average moist, fertile soil for optimum vigor and flowering though it is fairly adaptable. Strongly fragrant, double to single, 1" wide, sweetly fragrant, white, starry flowers are borne in clusters of 3-12 and are produced on new growth from spring to fall to year round under warm tropical conditions. The fragrant white waxy flower petals of Sambac Jasmines are used to flavor Jasmine tea and Jasmine rice. Maid of Orleans Jasmine is a naturally evergreen scandent shrub to twining vine that can grow to 8' high if left to its own devices, although, it is more commonly grown as a 3-4' shrub. Grow it as a container plant, as a hedge, an espalier or even as a small tree form. Large well-established plants of Sambac Jasmine are reported to be root hardy into zone 9 with proper protection and plants are easily overwintered indoors in a warm sunny window as container plants. Provide a full to part sun site in a quality, well-drained, acidic, fertile soil for optimum vigor and flowering.
