The large, semi-double deep red flowers are randomly splashed, streaked, and flecked with brightly contrasting white markings making each flower unique. Huge 4-5" double blooms are intensely fragrant! Aimee Yoshioka is the largest flowered of all Gardenias with large, glossy, dark green foliage on a vigorous and moderately fast growing evergreen shrub. The large dark foliage provides a wonderful foil for the large white flowers. Easily trained into a tree standard. Aimee is also considered to be one of the largest growing Gardenias, particularly in mild winter climates where it is known to reach 10-12' high but 5-6' may be more typical. Item# 1154.

A compact and heavily flowering Mophead Hydrangea, the sterile florets of Akadama™ Hydrangea open deep pink in alkaline or neutral soils and a deep purple in acidic soils that contain Aluminum ions and darken as they age (click the "More Details and Growing Info" link or the image to learn more about Hydrangea flower color in relation to soil pH and Aluminum availibility). A vigorous and reliable Oakleaf Hydrangea selection with sturdy stems and good sun tolerance. The 10-14" white bloom panicles, with individual blooms as large as a half-dollar, are borne in spring and fade to pink. Oakleaf Hydrangeas are beloved in the garden not only for their blooms but they also have the beautiful oak-leaf shaped foliage, which turns to shades of pink, red, burgundy, and purple in fall along with the interesting peeling bark on older stems. Item# 9103

All Summer Beauty is right! The large rounded clusters of pink, blue, or even purple flowers are born in spring as well as all summer as this Hydrangea produces flowers on new wood as well as old. An Almost Eden exclusive introduction! Almost Anita produces large to medium sized soft pink, double flowers that are heavily marked, streaked, and striped with bright fuchsia. It is an early flowering Camellia that blooms in December and January. We believe that Anita is likely in its parentage as it shares a similar form and flowering time as well as the flecking. Bright golden yellow feathery foliage on this tall stately tree makes for a brilliant contrast with surrounding evergreens. In fall, the Amber Glow™ Dawn Redwood takes on shades of orange and amber. This species is one of the oldest living conifers in the world known to have existed for at least 50 million years and is considered a living fossil. This is a naturally narrowly pyramidal deciduous tree that is similar to our native Bald Cypress. It develops a large trunk with textured bark and deep flutes (or ridges) and can grow at a relatively fast rate 70-100'. Item# 11427

Beautiful, rich pink, double rose-like 2" blooms are born in early spring. A beautiful evergreen azalea hybridized by Dr. Aromi of Mobile Alabama that grows to about 6' x 6'.  Item # 1186.

The American Beautyberry adorns itself in dense clusters of 1/8" wide, rich purple ,rarely white, berries that encircle the stems. The fruit begins to ripen and color up in summer but they are most noticeable on the bare winter stems. Apparently the berries sweeten as winter sets in and songbirds find them irresistible. A fast growing, native, deciduous shrub that is tolerant of sun to semi-shade but generally flowers and fruits best in full or mostly sunny conditions. Because it flowers on new growth, if the American Beautyberry gets too large it will benefit from periodic hard pruning and still produce fruit the same year if pruning is done before new growth begins in spring. Item# 10688.

The dainty white flowers of spring are soon followed by bumpy green fruits that mature to pink and then nearly to red. Once fully mature the pods split open to display the bright orange seeds inside giving it the name of Hearts-A-Burstin'. The American Strawberry bush is typically a deciduous to tardily deciduous large shrub (this selection seems to be more consistently evergreen) with green stems and dark to medium green, somewhat glossy foliage that is native to much of the eastern and central US. Amplissimus Rose of Sharon produces 2-3" wide, double, purplish-red flowers throughout much of summer on this easy to grow vigorous shrub, which is very tolerant of heat and most growing conditions. Althea or Rose of Sharon is a hardy Hibiscus that naturally develops into a multi-stemmed, vase-shaped deciduous shrub that can be trained into a tree form if desired. Provide an average moist to moderately moist, fertile soil and full sun for optimum growth and flowering. Item# 10338.

A double row of rounded, light purplish pink petals which are flecked and striped with contrasting dark purplish pink and surround a large boss of golden yellow stamens. Anita's medium-sized flowers are borne in mid season. An easily grown and rewarding evergreen shrub with a fairly compact habit. Truly one of our favorite variegated Camellias! Item# 9104

Anna's Choice Yaupon Holly produces loads of golden yellow berries in dense clusters that last well into spring or until the birds decide they are ripe, whichever comes first. Either way we get all fall and winter to enjoy the beauty this durable native evergreen shrub provides. Finally a repeat orange flowering Sweet Olive! This rare beauty produces clusters of sweetly fragrant soft orange flowers from fall through winter. Dark burgundy new growth that is reminiscent of Red Tip Photinia adds to the plants interest. Sweets Olives are easy and reliable, long-lived, large evergreen shrubs with few pests or diseases. One of the most popular and commercially important Olive varieties, Arbequina is semi-dwarf Olive tree that begins bearing at a fairly young age under container culture and takes slightly longer when planted in the garden. Introduced to Spain in the 1600's from Palestine, it has become one of the most popular commercial and home garden varieties that is excellent for both eating and for the exceptionally high quality oil it produces. The brown colored olives are small to medium sized when mature. Olives make beautiful evergreen additions to the garden and landscape with their narrow blue-green foliage with a silvery reverse. Use the Arbequina Olive Tree as a large shrub, small tree, or as a screen or enjoy it as a container plant or bonsai specimen. Provide ample sunlight and a well-drained soil. Arbequina Olive has long been touted as being self-fertile but recent studies seem to contradict that (see "Olives for Your Florida Landscape" from the University of Florida Extension to learn more). Use Arbosana, Koroneiki, or Picual for cross pollination. Item# 11251

Dancing Rabbit produces deep yellow buds that open to bright yellow azalea blossoms with a deep yellow blotch that sit in full, rounded clusters and absolutely cover up this plant in spring!
