Chuck Hayes Gardenia was selected for its reliable zone 7 cold hardiness, which, at least at the time of its development was unusual in double flowered forms, as well as its neat compact habit growing to about 4-5' high and wide. It is compact enough for containers as well as a small to medium-sized evergreen shrub for the garden and landscape.
