I am in North Carolina, zone 7. I have had this vine for a few years now and it has the most beautiful yellow flowers in the spring, and I bought it primarily because it is thornless. Our past 2 winters have been harsh (down to 6 degrees a few nights). This vine lost its leaves in those temps, but they came back just fine in warm spring weather. After main vines got established on the trellis, I keep the large shoots that come out trimmed off to keep it tidy.
