Smith
(5/17/2024)
Best fig I’ve tried & I’ve grown 27 varieties. My first smith fig tasted like the sweet strawberry topping you would find on cheesecake that quickly grabbed notes of blueberry & raspberry with intense sugary goodness.
Was Surprised How Small

My Smith fig just arrived and it is really small. It wasn't very expensive ($31.00, including shipping), so I shouldn't have been surprised that it looks like a barely rooted cutting. It is maybe 5-6 inches tall and has three buds. No leaves, just buds. If it does happen to survive, it'll be 2024, at the earliest, before it bears fruit.
Fast grower.

Smith figs taste amazing!
I Bought this hard to find variety in summer, and It has grown from a small 8” plant into a beautiful bush several feet high by fall. This fig is a must have for the Deep South!
